Head water fisheries unique to this part of New Zealand are so isolated and rugged that any foot access to these rivers is so challenging, that seldom do they frequent anglers, if any in certain areas. Utilizing helicopters opens up opportunity to fish these places while significantly maximizing limited time on the water when in New Zealand. We fly with experienced mountain pilots predominately flying MD/Hughes 500s.
There really is a distinct magic sleeping within the New Zealand wilderness. We make it surprisingly comfortable and relaxing in the highest quality sleeping equipment staying in tents or back country huts alongside the river valleys. These huts are little havens for the wilderness fly fisher after an invigorating day in somewhat physically demanding wilderness trout country.
Johnny takes care of the camp-out gear, superb back country food and meals without the demands of a heavy load on your back.
Your safety is our number one priority. Johnny is a very experienced and skilled as a bushman & hunter.
A personal locator beacon (PLB), satellite communicator and a comprehensive first aid kit are carried at all times.
