Cancellation Policy

Cancelled bookings are extremely difficult to fill at short notice. My season of fly fishing is my living so I need to cover myself for lost days through cancellation outside my control. Late cancellations are a significant burden on any small business.

*** I recommend travel insurance as an absolute essential to cover you if this unfortunate situation presents itself*

Cancellations greater than 60 days from fishing dates will be refunded the full deposit less a booking fee of $1000.00

Cancellations within 60 days of fishing dates will incur a 50% trip cost cancellation fee to all fishing days booked unless the client finds a replacement angler.

Cancellations within 30 days of fishing dates will incur a 100% trip cost cancellation fee to all fishing days booked unless the client finds a replacement angler.

Any cancellations will also incur any booked accomodation costs or deposits required by any providers if booked through Altitude Fly Fishing NZ LTD.

Refund Policy

Any cancellation due to extreme weather conditions will be determined by the guide and only when the safety of the client is at risk. In these rare cases, the entire guiding deposit will be held to reserve rescheduled trip dates. If an alternative trip cannot be arranged a full refund of the guiding deposit will be made.

Altitude Fly Fishing accepts no liability for loss or any gear which is broken during a trip. You also agree to release from all liability and to indemnify Johnny Gummer & Altitude Fly fishing NZ LTD against any liability we incur to anyone else resulting from the failure by you or any other member of your fishing party to follow our instructions.

Payment

Altitude Fly Fishing requires a 50% deposit per individual fishing day booked to confirm your trip.
No booking is confirmed until the deposit has been received. Your fishing dates will be held for a 14 day period, pending the payment of deposit. If the deposit has not been received then your dates will be open for reservation by other anglers requesting those dates.
An invoice will be created and sent to you to via Xero Invoicing and payment can be made via direct credit (internet bank transfer), Stripe Payments or Apple Pay.
The daily guide rate is set at NZD$1495.00 including NZ GST goods and services tax (15%) for up to 2 anglers for the 2025-2026 season.

NB: No fishing days are secure until a deposit has been paid uppon request.

Full payment of guide fees and any extra client costs that incur will be charged at completion of the trip.

If staying away from my base all client and guides accomodation, meals and extra vehicle costs will be charged at the completion of the trip.

All Helicopter flights may vary in price due to flight time with wind, weather changes and last minute decisions for safety and for logistical reasons. There is zero negotiation around this.
